US-based research provider Westat has hired Jeri Mulrow as its new Vice President and Director of Statistical Services. Mulrow steps in for David Morganstern who is leaving the company after 35 years. Mulrow will be at the head of Westat’s 80 statisticians whose research focuses on health, education, social policy, and transportation.

Mulrow brings more than thirty years of experience as an applied mathematical statistician working in government, industry and academia, most recently as Principal Deputy Director for the Bureau of Justice Statistics in the U.S. Department of Justice. Previously, she was the Deputy Division Director for the National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics at the National Science Foundation. In recent years she has served on the Board and as the Vice President of the American Statistical Association.
