Mehmet Goker, a former VP of Data for SurveyMonkey, has joined freight forwarder Flexport as its new CDO.

Here is an excerpt form a post published on MRWeb:

San Francisco-based Flexport moves freight globally by air, ocean, rail and truck, and its purpose built software and data analytics platform connects nearly 10,000 clients and suppliers across 109 countries. Göker (pictured) joins from SurveyMonkey, where he served as VP, Data and Analytics, overseeing the Data Engineering team (Data Warehouse and Big Data environment, AWS), the Business Intelligence team, the Data Science team and the ML Engineering team. Prior to this, he worked at Salesforce, latterly as VP, Business Data Science, and earlier in charge of predictive analytics, data analysis, data governance and Voice of the Customer programs.

In his new role, Göker will be responsible for strengthening and scaling Flexport’s data and analytics functions and overseeing how data is collected, analyzed and used to build predictive models. He is joined by Paige, who will oversee the firm’s data and privacy standards, following a career which has included serving as CISO at MuleSoft (through its acquisition by Salesforce.com), as well as technical leadership roles at Salesforce, xMatters, and the US Army and Air Force.

Commenting on the appointments, Flexport CEO Ryan Petersen said: ‘Flexport is transforming freight forwarding with its data and technology-first mind-set. We were fortunate to attract a CDO and a CISO with strong experience and a global perspective. Mehmet and Kevin’s contributions will help our clients drive their businesses forward and will help Flexport become the most trusted company in global trade’.
