Fastly’s new partnership with Microsoft will supercharge the San Francisco-based firm’s edge cloud platform with the data processing brawn of Microsoft’s Data Explorer, Blob Storage, and Event Grid. By pushing applications closer to edges of networks, Fastly believes it can improve analytics performance to near real-time levels thus assuring a much more favorable end-user experiences.

Over 2 billion gigabytes of data are captured each day, and that figure is expected to keep growing. Microsoft’s Azure Data Explorer is designed to provide improved visibility into such large data sets. By partnering with Fastly, businesses can collect data from the edge in real time and combine it with data from other sources in a central platform. Fastly provides 100% of logs in real-time from the edge.
