The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has named a new acting CDO in addition to several other hires in data policy roles.

Here is an excerpt from a report published in MeriTalk:

Topping the list is the appointment of Steve Rosenberg as the FCC’s acting Chief Data and Analytics Officer. He also will serve as acting Chief of the Office of Economics and Analytics’ (OEA) Data Division. The OEA’s Data Division will be where the OPEN Data Government Act implementation will be housed. The division also is tasked with developing and implementing “best practices, processes, and standards for data management to meet the needs of [FCC] staff who rely on data to inform policymaking and other core activities of the Commission.”

Also on the new appointments list is Michael Janson, who will be acting Assistant Chief of OEA in addition to serving as the FCC’s new director of the Rural Broadband Auctions Task Force.

Finally, Chelsea Fallon will lead the new Digital Opportunity Data Collection efforts within OEA, after previously heading the Rural Broadband Auctions Task Force.
